All involved with JUNIOR RUGBY at OPM RFC (whether in a formal coaching or match setting or in a social setting) have a moral obligation to ensure that children and young players are provided with the highest possible standard of care.
In conjunction with our JUNIOR project we are implementing a child/young player protection policy, with the support of our committee, coaches and volunteers.
We fully support the RFU Child Abuse and Child Protection policies for clubs. We are taking steps to ensure that all adults who have dealings with our players, either in a coaching capacity or in any kind of supervisory role will be Criminal Record Bureau checked.
Our Child Protection Officer, Nick Warne, is a serving Police Officer with the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary and will be taking advantage of training opportunities made available through the Devon RFU. His name will be displayed in a prominent place in the club house along with a flow chart for action when concerns are voiced.
OPMs will pay particular attention to the RFU Child Protection Policy
