OPM’s are very sad to announce that George Stephenson passed away this week following a long battle with leukemia. All our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
In honor of George the team held a minutes silence in their game at Dartmouth RFC today.
Below are some comments from the club officials.
Howard Turner (Head Coach) commented: “A hugely sad day for family & friends!! The thoughts of the whole OPM Rugby community are with you all at this difficult time!! A Great gent & quality player who will be sorely missed & fondly remembered!!!”
Leigh Puttock (Former Head Coach) commented: “OMG that is terrible news. Hit me hard. What a great lad.”
Matthew Glastonbury (Club Chairman) commented: “Very sad to hear of this news. A lot of guys have played with him over the years and he was a fantastic, hard and skilled player in pretty much any position. Thoughts are with the family at this time. A sad loss to the OPM family”
Rhys Phillips (Club Captain) commented: “So sad to hear this, was a top top player. All thoughts with Harry and family at this time”
