The Elburton Project Taskforce has been working tirelessly on improving and developing the facilities at Fortress Elburton for both the Senior and Junior sections. Since our last post on the 9th November, a lot has happened to develop it even further.
The major improvements are that the carpet for the social sections has now been added in a strong claret, our OPM colours! A massive thank you to Chris and Kenny Reeve Carpet services for all of your efforts.
There has also been works to the Ladies toilet facilty and is now much more suitable for usage included lino flooring, tiling and most importantly a toilet seat in the sky blue of OPMs.
Lighting has also been a major issue at Elburton, so we have now added down lighters to the outer covering of the changing rooms in order to provide more light and add a welcoming feel to the facility. These are timer set and will ensure that it is on when you start training in future. (apologies for the picture quality on this one!)
As ever, future plans include further lighting to the outer section of the changing rooms, electrics and heating throughout the social section and a future meeting with Plymouth City Council to discuss our future long term plans to make further improvements. We will also be creating a second referees room in the changing side of Elburton to accommodate the Plymouth University partnership and allow for the social section to be for total usage by OPMs in future.
I would personally like to thank Dave Glastonbury for continuing to lead this project this year and also Rick Trinder, Billy Garrett, Warren Dunkley, Dave Chapman, Mark Turner and many other volunteers for their efforts. It is greatly appreciated and we are really starting to see the benefits at Fortress Elburton. Thank you and keep an eye on this page for the future plans and progress.
Thanks all for your support and efforts in making this better for the OPM Family.
Matt Glastonbury, OPM Chairman
