Membership Success for the Juniors

The ongoing success of the Juniors has continued with not only the development of the new age group the U12s, but has now exceeded 80 regular playing members.

This has been an amazing year for the Juniors who have bolstered numbers through improving contact with the local schools, provided well supported Junior Breakfasts and the Bring a Buddy days which have proved very successful.

Well done to all of the Committee, Coaches, parents and young OPMs. We look forward to further developments next year.

Many Thanks

Matt Glastonbury, Chairman

This team started in the autumn and have been training together since then. On Sunday 25th February at 10am they are having their first contact with the outside world when we host the Tavistock U12 team for a combined training and mix and match game at KGV playing fields, Haye Road, Elburton, PL9 8HR.

We are now looking to expand the existing squad so If you know anyone who might be interested in playing in this age group just get them to come along on the day or phone Dave on 07905 447323 for more details. If you would just like to know a bit more about how things work then come along to watch. No experience is necessary as full training will be given.

Please spread the word as far and as wide as possible.
If you know anyone who started at a senior school last September they are in the age group we are looking for.

GA Solicitors Tackle Breakfast Sponsorship

Plymouth law firm, GA Solicitors, has joined forces with Old Plymothian and Mannamedian (OPM) Rugby Football Club to support its junior teams for the 2017/18 season.

The firm is sponsoring the home-played junior breakfast games which take place most Sundays throughout the 2017/18 season. Four teams take part at each breakfast – under 7s, under 8s, under10s and under 12s. A member of the firm will be present at each event, available for questions as well as to cheer on the home side.

The OPM was established in 1926 and now includes two adult teams, four junior teams and touch rugby. The clubhouse is located in Mutley and its pitches in Elburton.

Chris Pascoe, vice-chairman of the OPM, commented: “We are delighted to welcome GA Solicitors as the sponsor of our popular junior rugby breakfast events. These are always fun-filled mornings with big crowds and a lot of action.

“We hope to provide a real benefit to GA and hope to ensure this is a lasting relationship.”

Stephen Ramsden, managing partner of GA Solicitors, added: “We strive to support our local community and the OPM is an established Plymouth club with a longstanding place in the city. We are pleased to be aiding both the club and the children and wish them the best of luck for the new season.”
